Athena College Annual Retreat
An annual retreat of Athena Institute of Health Sciences was organised at St. Dominican Church Hall, Ashoknagar on June 29, 30 and July 1st.
The gathering was counting around 400 students. We had Fr. Roger, Br. Godfree and Br. Thomas as resources. Music Team contained Manu and Rindo from Kerala.
May they continue with experience of God everyday in their life.

Meet Jesus - 2012

On May 1st from 8:00 PM to 5:00 PM, around 750 nursing students and 100 volunteers came togethered making this event a successful one.
Isaiah 54:10 was the theme for the day. This was a Malyalam programme. A joint initiative from St. Alphonsa Church prayer meeting and Nurses ministry of Jesus Youth Mangalore. Dijo was the General Co-ordinator for the programme.
We had the presence of Fr. Prakash who inaugrated the programme. Also Fr. Sunil, Asst Pairsh Priest, St. Alphonsa Church, Kankanady was present for the inaugration for the programme. Sr. Dhanya from Athena College was also present for us at the programme.

Brother Sunil came for sharing the message with us. Stage plays and music were also a great help to experience and understand the love that Jesus has for us.

Grace-'10

It was indeed an absolute grace of God on the 6th June '10 by which around 300 students of AJ Institute of Medical Sciences came together to experience Grace-'10. The program was held in the AJ auditorium, with vibrant music by John from Coimbatore, MCs-Gleron and Berna and spiritfilled breaking of the word byBro.Mario from Divine Retreat Centre,
Potta,Kerala. The participants were filled with the enthusiam for the Lord as they left the place. Congratulations to the Core team of Laxmi college.

Retreat for City College students


A retreat was conducted for the students of City College on the 29th and 30th of May,2010. The retreat was conducted at The Infant Jesus Shrine at Bikarnakatte. Around 400 students participated enthusiastically for the retreat, through the breaking of the Word by speakers like Br. Tomy and Br. Nimin with a spirit filled music by Bobby and Demin. There was a wonderful response from the participants. Congratulations the core people from City college itself who worked behind this.

Leadership training program-2010


West sub region of Karnataka had a Leadership training Program which was held from the 12th March to 14th March, 2010 at the Pastoral centre. Around 100 participants benefitted from it. Major resources for the program were Subin Jacob( National assistant coordinator) and Dony Peter (Coordinator South east asia, International team member) who enriched the participants and emphasised on various aspects of leadership. Music for the program was vibrant and was led by John and Jomychan (from Coimbatore). The participants were from various places like Manipal, Mulkhi, Sirsi, Kundapur and Mangalore.

MEET JESUS:'Redefining Life"-A Malayalam program

An ever enthusiastic crowd of 1075 participants had filled the St.Aloysius hall with joy of meeting jesus on the 8th of November, 09'.
The registration started at 7.45am from the various colleges in and around Mangalore. The program started at 8.30 am by the MC’s Mr. Golwin Peter and Ms. Maria Francis. The music team led by Mr. Shejin supported the MCs to give a joyful beginning for the programme. At 9:00am the programme was inaugurated officially with the installation of Mother Mary's statue and the Holy Bible. Fr. Rudolf( Jesus youth animator,Manglore), Sr. Icey and Adv. George were on the dais. Fr Rudolf blessed the entire gathering.
At the outset,the audio visual team welcomed the participants with a welcome dance to the program. From 9.30 am Mr. V.V. Augustine took a session on the need of meeting Jesus to overcome the problems that we face in our youth life. He also took one more session on his personal experience with God. The Eucharistic adoration which was also led by him was a special experience and helped many participants for a personal encounter with the Lord and to make some firm decisions for life.
The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Joby, (Asst. Vicar, St. Alphonsa Church), Fr. Shaji, (Youth Director of Belthangady Diocese) and Fr. Biju. Fr. Shaji gave the homily on how the Jesus encounter will make our life more beautiful and enjoyable. Ms. Teresa, an active Jesus Youth shared her testimony of her Jesus encounter experience.
At 3:00pm, the audio visual team presented a heart-touching skit which conveyed the message on God’s love to sinful mankind. This was followed by the anointed time of adoration. A panel discussion coordinated by Nimin Joy in which Fr. Joby, Ms. Divya and Ms. Anitha participated, conveyed the message to the participants that how it is possible to a Christ-centered life in their life situations. The session enlightened the participants about the possibilities provided by St Alphonsa Church and the opportunities in Jesus Youth to be involved with the active ministry in the Church. At 4.50 pm Ms. Archana the General Coordinator of the programme delivered the vote of thanks and by 4.55pm the programme concluded with music.
All the participants had a never forgetting encounter with Jeus, our Lord and King.

Nurses Growth Retreat (March 26th-29th)
The Nurses Growth Retreat happened from 26th evening to 29th afternoon, after which the participants had a personal planning session, around 25 participated in the same . Br. Edmund and team took up the retreat,

It was an initiative of Mangalore Nurses team.
Athena Nursing College Retreat- (March 27th-29th)
Athena Nursing college retreat started on 26th with Mr. Robert from St Joseph' College leading the nurses into a wonderful time of Praise and worship, then by a session on I am unique by Mr. Golvin who is a part of Karnataka Nurses team,
Well then taken over by Fr Saleen, who shared somr real beautiful thoughts on 'why am I so Precious' and about 'God's love', Had a beautiful time of Holy Eucharistic celebration in the noon,
Fr. Nelson , the Charismatic director of Mangalore who spoke on youth issues before which there was a nice skit, well then the participants had very touching experience during the adoration in the evening.

The second day was a day of reflection, were participants prepared for the Confessions and later the inner healing adoration led by Fr. Saleen,
The Final day was a joyous day for the participants, there was a introduction of the Jesus Youth movement, done by Mr Hebin, then a Prolife session by Ms. Jincy
The Peak time of the day was the infillin time, it was very beautifully led by Mr. Anil.
The retreat ended with the time of celebration where the participants with the music team sang and danced for the Lord!

September Season
31ST AUG – 2 SEP – Karnataka parish LTP – A leadership training program for 28 participants from various parts of Karnataka was held at Rishivana. The resources were Br.
Davis, Br. Eliyas, Br. Joy, Br. Albert Lobo. The participants were given training on how to be committed and strong Christian leaders.
2nd – LTP Follow up – A follow up of the leadership training program was conducted at Fr. Mullers. 12 students attended this program. The main resource was Suraj. The main aim of this program was to start various ministries in the campus. The ministries formed were music ministry, healing hands and intercession ministry.
2nd – Teens volunteers gathering – A one day gathering of all the volunteers of the TEENS MEET was held at Fatima Retreat House. The main resources were Liss and Wilma. A total of 30 volunteers attended this program.
9th – Family gathering at St. Agnes Special school was conducted from 2 P.M to 5 P.M. The Jesus Youth of Mangalore celebrated the feast of nativity as one family. There was a beautiful time of fellowship with games.
16th – Staff and tutors program – A one day program for nursing staff and tutors was held at Fatima Retreat House by the nurses ministry. 60 participants were present. Br. Dony from Bangalore was the main resource.
18th – Taize worship – Taize worship was held at Valencia parish from 6:15 P.M to 7:30 P.M. Br. Rodney led the worship. 50 parishioners attended the Taize worship.
22nd – Night Vigil – The night vigil was held at Bishops house. A total of 30 Jesus Youths attended the vigil. It was a beautiful time of spending the whole night in the presence of the Lord. We also had a time of confession before the vigil began. Fr. Prakash helped with the confessions. The vigil ended with Holy Mass celebrated by the Bishop of Mangalore.

Exam Preparation Program for BSc Nurses
A exam preparation program was organised for the BSc Nurses of Mangalore on 19th August, 2007 by the Jesus Youth Nurses Ministry of Mangalore at St Aloysius High School Auditorium. Nearly 450 student prepared for their exam in the presence of the Lord.

More than 100 people participated in the Exam Preparation Program organised by the nurses ministry in Mangalore. It is the first time that the nurses ministry in Mangalore has organised a program specially for the GNM Students. The venue for the program was St Aloysius Primary School Hall. The program was conducted on Sunday 15th July 2007. Sessions were taken by Nimin Joy, who spoke on being one with the vine that is Jesus.
We Wish all the GNM nursing students who participated all the best in their exam. May God bless all of you.

Follow up of Ephatha
The follow up of Ephatha was organised at Evangelisation Center on 8th July, 2007 by the initiative of the nurses ministry. The Resource persons for the program were James, Rodney and Jopachan. There were around 50 participants. The main theme of the program was Evangelisation..
.
Fr Stany Vas celebrated the Holy Eucharist and blessed the new vestments and mass articles bought by the Jesus Youth. Sr Beena (Nurses Animator) was there for the program and extended her valuable support. The general coordinator for the program was by Neetu (Srinivas college tutor). Music was lead by Justin, Berna, Hazil, Sherin, Sheeja , Suraj and others who also helped in doing action songs..jpg)
