There was a Thanksgiving Mass on 16th January, 2011 in Fr Muller Medical College Chapel for the success of JY Jubilee Conference and and also to commemorate the Year of the Youth.

The Holy Mass was Celebrated by one of our Spiritual Head Fr Maxim.

The Liturgy and the Choir was by the Jesus Youth of our Campus.

Mr Suraj Noronha , Karnataka Jesus Youth Coordinator, said that it was a dream which many Jesus Youth s had from several years, which had come true today.
Mr Anil Rupesh D'Souza, Coordinator of Mangalore Jesus Youth, thanked every one who were gathered.
After all it was truly a joyous time at the new office

The most awaited Jesus Youth Jubilee Conference happened from 28th December 2010 to 1st January 2011 in Rajagiri college Campus, Cochin, Kerala.
Around 382 Jesus Youth participated from Mangalore
It was 5 days of celebration, where in 20,000 Jesus Youth s from around 29 countries were present
This gathering was first time in its kind with such a big number of Youth present in the history of the movement.

Service Team of Jesus Youth, Mangalore arranged a Training Program for the Jesus Youth leaders of Mangalore at St Antony’s Poor Home from 10^th to 12^th of September 2010. Around 40 leaders from various ministries took part in the same.

The resources for the training were: Mr. Prajwal Pinto, Mr. Steven Pereira, Mr. Vijay Sebastian, and Mr. Rodney Pereira. Besides which we had Fr Francis (Administrator, St Antony’s Poor Home), Fr Nelson, Fr Rudolf Noronha who offered mass for us.

MONTHLY GATHERING-JULY

Once again entire Jesus Youth of Mangalore gathered as one family on the 25th of July at Roshni Nilaya from 9.30 to 12 noon. Around 80 Jesus Youths gathered this time. Month after month Jesus Youths of various prayer meetings await to meet their entire big family together.

This gathering too started with music and JY prayer, led by Gleron Quadros, JY Campus core team member. Then Molty, National Nurses team member shared her testimony of how she experienced the Lord through Jesus Youth movement. Then Roseanne Periera, on behalf of the Service team of Mangalore, gave a brief report of last months programs under various ministries. Last but not the least, there was birthday celebration of 6 Jy s who celebrate their birthday this month, i.e. Balraj, Julius, Dorjee, Sonia, Jaison and Berna.

HOLY EUCHARIST OFFERED FOR JUBILEE YEAR

Holy Eucharist being the highest form of worship, was offered for the intention of the Jubilee Year. Around 50-60 Jesus Youths gathered for the Holy Eucharist at Roshni Nilaya chapel on the 18th July, 2010 at 9.45am. The Eucharist was celebrated by Fr.Nelson, Director of Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte. The spirit moved among the people through the music of the mass along with the meaningful homily.

A strength 420 participants from three different colleges were present for this programme. The sessions on the first day were - God’s love, Jesus is my saviour, Sin and repentance it also included Mass and adoration the main celebrant for mass was Rev Fr. Joby, Br, Baby John conducted the adoration service.

the second day, the contents were on the Holy Spirit, Importance of prayer life, and Inner Healing, it was concluded with Holy Eucharist. The main Celebrant was Rev Fr. Binish and the adoration was conducted by Br. Renny. Br. Shibu shared his testimony about the grace of God he received which is helping him to cope up with the current situation. Ms. Anu Anna from SCS College of Nursing shared her testimony about how Jesus touched her life.

Confessions were held on both the days, they were led by Rev. Fr. Paul, and Rev. Fr. George.

EXAM PREPARATION PROGRAM

In preparation for exams coming up in August, a program was organised for the students on the 4th of July 2010 at Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte. The program was from 8.30am till 1pm with vibrant music, solemn liturgy by Fr.Shiaju, meaningful sharing by Anil D'souza and Dr.Nishan Mathias and testimony by Gretel Goveas. The short program ended with a powerful time in adoring the blessed sacrament which was led by Golvin Peter. The participants were filled with the spirit was they left the place to begin to prepare for their university exams.

This was resounding in the all the Jesus Youths of Mangalore as around 70 attented the monthly gathering held on the 27th July,10 at Roshni Nilaya, Valencia from 9.45am to 12.30pm.

Anju led everyone into a time of worship. Hebin shared on the jubile year and various projects happening for it. The entire crowd was divided according to various campuses or ministries they belonged to. Each project was discussed in the team and necessary action to be taken in the coming months was decided. A jubilee committee was appointed to see to everything. As the gathering ended, everyone was in the mood of celebration, wishing each other "HAPPY JUBLEE"...

Jesu Apoitha - One Day Konkani program

"JESU APOITA", a one day konkani program was organised by the Jesus Youth of Mangalore for all the youth of Mangalore diocese. It was held at Milagres School Hall,Mangalore on the 20th June, 2010 from morning 8.30am- 5.30pm. Around 240 youth attended the program.

Mrs.Merlin Menezes, Mr.Anil D'Souza and Fr Franklin D'Souza were the main resources for the program.

Ms. Crystal, Mr. Paul (Mysore), Mr. Baptist and Ms. Bernadette shared their life testimonies how Jesus has brought a diffference in their life. The music ministry really kept the participants tapping their feet.

Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Vicar General, Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu and Homily preached by Fr Nelson Pinto OCD. Adoration led by Fr Franklin D'souza with an anointing prayer for all the participants Fr Vijay Lobo, Fr Jesudas, Fr Anil Dsouza (Youth Director) were present for the program.

In preparation of this program, the Jesus Youth had round the clock intercession for 2 weeks for 24hrs, which they believe was the backbone of the success of the program. As the participants left the hall in the evening, they were really filled with the joy of the Lord. Neha Jasmine Rodrigues (participant- 2nd PU, St.Aloysius) said "Jesus Youth seriously instilled in me the willingness to go forward to preach or give testimony of Jesus. My faith has surely strengthened. I enjoyed the whole day. Thanks to the Jesus Youth who organised such a program where all youth can come together and speak out their faith. Hope to have such more programs. Thank you Jesus Youth" .

The day was indeed more memorable as Pope Benedict today inaugarated this year was the Year for the Youth.

It was indeed an absolute grace of God on the 6th June '10 by which around 300 students of AJ Institute of Medical Sciences came together to experience Grace-'10. The program was held in the AJ auditorium, with vibrant music by John from Coimbatore, MCs-Gleron and Berna and spiritfilled breaking of the word byBro.Mario from Divine Retreat Centre, Potta,Kerala. Retreat for City College students

A retreat was conducted for the students of City College on the 29th and 30th of May,2010. The retreat was conducted at The Infant Jesus Shrine at Bikarnakatte. Around 400 students participated enthusiastically for the retreat, through the breaking of the Word by speakers like Br. Tomy and Br. Nimin with a spirit filled music by Bobby and Demin. There was a wonderful response from the participants. Congratulations the core people from City college itself who worked behind this.

FUNERAL OF ROSILYN,GODWEENA & GLORIA

The funeral mass of Rosily,Godweena and Gloria was on the 23rd Sunday afternoon,2010 at St.Alphonsa church,Kankanady celebrated by Fr. Joseph Valiparambil, the Vicar General of Belthangaday diocese. The mass was followed by funeral at the cemetry.
Shibu(husband of Rosilyn and father of the 2 girls) maintained his calm and witnessed his faith in the Lord during this time. Shibu is actively involved with Jesus Youth of UAE. And Rosilyn has been a great support for the Kanakaday Prayer Meeting in Mangalore.
Jesus Youth s all over the world have been praying for this family as we express our heartfelt condolences towards Shibu.

PENTACOST VIGIL

The Jesus Youth of Fr.Mullers arranged a 3hr vigil in the campus for the students at the occasion of Pentecost. The beautiful decor of the altar and the vibrant music brought around 300 youths into the mood of inviting the Holy Spirit into their lives. Fr. Rudy shared on who this Holy Spirit is and also led into a prayers for the victims of the aircrash, Prem led the crowd into Praise and worship, Suraj Noronha led the adoration. The students had an experiencial time with the Spirit of the Lord.

HAPPY PENTECOST AND RECOMMITMENT DAY

In the aircrash that happenend in Mangalore on the 22nd morning, May 2010, 158 passengers lost their lives. Four Jesus Youths in the aircraft also lost their lives- Rosily and her two daughters Godwina and Gloria (JY Mangalore) and Riju Mampilly (JY UAE). It is indeed immensely painful to have lost 4 of our family members. The funeral mass of Roslin, Godweena and Gloria will be on the 23rd May at St. Alphonsa Church,Kankanady at 3pm. Please do come so that we can pray for these souls and all the souls who passed away yesterday.
The Jesus Youth of Mangalore convey our heartfelt sympathy and earnest prayers to Shibu (Roslin's husband and the father of two kids) and the family of Riju Mampilly.

Taize worship

Holy Spirit Novena

The Novena for the Holy Spirit has begun today at various places in Mangalore.

There was a common Novena at Fathima Retreat House, Jeppu at 6pm were few leaders gathered.

The other places were Novena has started includes St Joseph Engineering College in the afternoon at 1:30pm, and Fr. Muller Medical College at 6pm and in other institutions as well.

This Holy Spirit Novena would continue for the next 9 days and would conclude with the Recommitment and Reunion Day on the 23rd of this month.

"CELL GROUPS"-This month s theme

The Jesus Youth monthly gathering for the month of March was held on the 21st March,2010 at the same venue, Roshni Nilaya, Valencia. Around 80 Jesus Youths were present for the gathering. Jesus Youth prayer was led by Mr.Suraj Noronha (Karnataka Jesus Youth Team Coordinator). The gathering was then divided into small groups for a time of sharing. This was led by Mr.Jeejo (Mangalore Service Team member), who also wonderfully shared about what are cell groups and its importance. He emphasized on how the Jesus Youth movement has grown because of the presence of strong cell groups.

Month after month the Jesus Youth of Mangalore are renewing themselves through these monthly gatherings.

Leadership training program-2010

West sub region of Karnataka had a Leadership training Program which was held from the 12th March to 14th March, 2010 at the Pastoral centre. Around 100 participants benefitted from it. Major resources for the program were Subin Jacob( National assistant coordinator) and Dony Peter (Coordinator South east asia, International team member) who enriched the participants and emphasised on various aspects of leadership. Music for the program was vibrant and was led by John and Jomychan (from Coimbatore). The participants were from various places like Manipal, Mulkhi, Sirsi, Kundapur and Mangalore.

MONTHLY GATHERING- February

The monthly Jesus Youth gathering for the month of February was on 28th. Around 85-90 Jesus Youth s from various campuses, parishes and ministries gathered together.

The THEME of this gathering was Fellowship. Golwin Peter (Karnataka Nurses team member) led the gathering into Jesus Youth prayer. The gathering was moved by the music team which led everyone into worshipping Christ our Lord.

Anil D'souza (Mangalore Service team member) broke the word on fellowship, and stressed on the point how fellowship can make a difference in our walk with Jesus.

The gathering was a fruitful and enlightening one.

2nd North East Gathering

The 2nd north East gathering in Mangalore was held on the 21st feb, 2010 at St.Agnes Special School from 9am-12noon. Around 30 participants attended the Programme and the main theme of the programme was Fellowship. Gleron and Magdaline led everyone into a time of praise and Worship. The North East students themselves took initiative for the choir and music with the support of Prem.Miss kaini from Nagaland and Suraj Noronha(KJYT coordinator) were the resourse persons. The Service team of Mangalore found the immense need of a platform where all Jeus Youths of Mangalore could gather together from various prayer meetings. So, a monthly gathering was decided for the same.

The 1st gathering was on the 31st Jan '10 at Roshni Nilaya college,Valencia, where around 75-80 Jesus Youths gathered together. The gathering began with dynamic music by the music team which included Vijay-keyboard, prem- guitar, Anthony- base guitar, John-guitar.

Then Berna led the crowd into the Jesus Youth prayer. All the participants truely and devotedly worshipped the Lord. This was followed by an ever inspiring session by Br.Rodney on MISSION. He beautifully shared various ways in which we can play a role in being a missionary.

Then the co-ordinator of Mangalore, Mr.Arrel Moras introduced various ministries under the Mangalore service team which included the Prolife, Professional, Intercession, Nurses, Teens, Campus & Parish ministries. Each ministry incharge introduced their team member and gave updates of what are the various things happening in their ministries. The new Campus core team for Mangalore was introduced, which included Paul-incharge, Gleron, Shasta, Vijeth, Apoorva, Magdaline, Maria and Priya.

Br. Rodney also introduced te various projects undertaken for the jubile year.

The gathering was indeed a fruitful one in renewing, redefining and making ourselves radiant in spirit.

JUBILE CROSS PRAYAN IN MANGALORE

The jubile cross tour in Mangalore filled with city with beautiful experiences in prayer and unity.

This is a rough schedule of the where all the cross was taken in Mangalore.

It was taken to various Jesus Youth houses, hostel s and prayer meetings.

Some of the houses it was taken to to,was Dr John, Arrel (Mangalore co-ordinator), Anil, Prem, Daphney, Hebin, Anju and more.

Every night it was taken to various hostels and the JY s in that hostel spend the night in prayer before the cross. Few of the hostels included Unity Hostel, SCS students hostel, Athena hostel.

There was a night vigil arranged with the jubile cross for which the Bishop of Mangalore Rev. Aloysius Paul D'souza venerated the cross.

The Cross was also taken for an outreach programme to a poor home by Kanakanady Core team, For Fr.Mullers prayer meeting, Infant Jeus prayer meeting.

The cross was also taken for the Infant Jeus novena mass. The congregation was briefed about the cross and the entire mss was offered for Jy jubile year. It was wonderful to see a huge crowd flocking around the cross after the mass.

Mr.Prem Machado testified a beautiful experience with the cross." The jubile cross came to my house on the 28th Jan morning. My mom was overwhelmed to have the cross in our house. After a lovely time of praising and worshipping the Lord, I left home for an interview. I was surprised by this Interview which lasted for 7 hours. And through the absolute grace of our God and the blessings of the jubile cross, I got through the job. Praise God."

An outreach to St.Anthony's Poor home

An outreach was organised by the Kankanady prayer meeting core team members on the 26th Jan.'10.
There were around 45 member who went for this outreach. They carried the jubile crosss along with them as they went for the outreach to St. Anthony's Poor home,Jeppu - a home for the old,destitutes and orphans.
They began with a time of prayer in the chapel led by Sherin at around 9am. At 10 am each of them were divided into 3 groups. And each group went to 3 different homes inside the campus.
Each of them catered to different aged people according to their needs, like nailing cutting, hair cutting, sitting and sharing with them.They remained with them the elderly for about 1 and half hour.
This one to one experience with the old really touched the Jesus Youth member s hearts.
They concluded at around 12 noon with a prayer.

And as a part of this year,a cross made up of the soil of different countries where JY is present will be passed all around India. This cross was blessed by Archibishop Rev.Abraham. And this jubile cross Prayan started with the state of Karnataka.

The cross was received in Mangalore on the 24th January 09' and will be in Mangalore till the 28th of this month. During this time, the cross wil be taken to various Jesus Youth houses as awell as hostels. On the 25th a Night Vigil was conducted in the presence of the cross.Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore venerated the Jubilee Cross in the Bishop’s House Chapel, Mangalore at around 10:00 pm on 25th January, 2010.There were nearly 25 Jesus Youth who were gathered to praise and adore the Lord for the whole night. The Jubilee prayer was lead by the Bishop and everyone joined in unison. The further update of the cross will be put up soon.

The Jubilee Year for our Grace filled movement was inaugrated with a Holy Eucharistic Celebration, on the 1st Jan 2010, at the Chapel of Arrupe Vihar, Fatima Retreat House, Mangalore, today evening at 6pm, as we joined the Jesus Youth, all around the world in with this celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

The Mass was offered by Fr. Bineesh,our very own Jesus Youth,with a meaningful sermon and giving the message of Mother Mary as we celebrate her feast today. At the end of the Mass a candle was lit by each person present there and the Jubilee Prayer was recited by each one of us.

There were around 35 JY's participating in the Celebration.

And now each one of us are egerly waiting for the Cross to land in Mangalore , that would be on the 26th of January.

Jesus youths of Mangalore came together for the christmas celebration on the 13th Dec, 09 at St. Agnes Special School from 2-5pm. This was also a gathering of Jesus youth families. Around 5-6 families were present with the presence of around 50 jesus youths.
The birthday of Jeus was celebrated with fun, food and frolic, and not to miss praising and worshipping our baby jesus. The music ministry indeed truely filled the place with the joy of the birth of the Lord. Fr. Rudolph, our own animator gave the christmas message.
So Joy had filled eveyone with the presence of baby Jesus in their hearts..

MEET JESUS:'Redefining Life"-A Malayalam program

An ever enthusiastic crowd of 1075 participants had filled the St.Aloysius hall with joy of meeting jesus on the 8th of November, 09'.
The registration started at 7.45am from the various colleges in and around Mangalore. The program started at 8.30 am by the MC’s Mr. Golwin Peter and Ms. Maria Francis. The music team led by Mr. Shejin supported the MCs to give a joyful beginning for the programme. At 9:00am the programme was inaugurated officially with the installation of Mother Mary's statue and the Holy Bible. Fr. Rudolf( Jesus youth animator,Manglore), Sr. Icey and Adv. George were on the dais. Fr Rudolf blessed the entire gathering.
At the outset,the audio visual team welcomed the participants with a welcome dance to the program. From 9.30 am Mr. V.V. Augustine took a session on the need of meeting Jesus to overcome the problems that we face in our youth life. He also took one more session on his personal experience with God. The Eucharistic adoration which was also led by him was a special experience and helped many participants for a personal encounter with the Lord and to make some firm decisions for life.
The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Joby, (Asst. Vicar, St. Alphonsa Church), Fr. Shaji, (Youth Director of Belthangady Diocese) and Fr. Biju. Fr. Shaji gave the homily on how the Jesus encounter will make our life more beautiful and enjoyable. Ms. Teresa, an active Jesus Youth shared her testimony of her Jesus encounter experience.
At 3:00pm, the audio visual team presented a heart-touching skit which conveyed the message on God’s love to sinful mankind. This was followed by the anointed time of adoration. A panel discussion coordinated by Nimin Joy in which Fr. Joby, Ms. Divya and Ms. Anitha participated, conveyed the message to the participants that how it is possible to a Christ-centered life in their life situations. The session enlightened the participants about the possibilities provided by St Alphonsa Church and the opportunities in Jesus Youth to be involved with the active ministry in the Church. At 4.50 pm Ms. Archana the General Coordinator of the programme delivered the vote of thanks and by 4.55pm the programme concluded with music.
All the participants had a never forgetting encounter with Jeus, our Lord and King.

Completion of a successful Intercession Month

'Be persistent in prayer, and keep alert as you pray, Giving thanks to God."-Colossians 4:2
And this is exactly what the Jesus Youth of Mangalore did. The intercession month was inaugrated with a mass celebrated by Fr. Francis and con-celebrated by Fr. Rudolf Noronha.
Each day,the entire Jeus Youth of Mangalore prayed for a particular intention during the month. The Night Vigil held on the 14th of Nov at the Bishop's house was an experience of its kind, with the theme of Prolife. About 28 members were present for it. One half of the night was spent in understanding about prolife and the other for interceding for the Unborn children. Dr. Mammen ( incharge of the National Doctors core team) was the main resource for the night vigil.
The rosary procession on the 21st began from Pastoral center, Bajjodi and ended at the Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte with an houf of adoration. The time of adoring and worshiping the Lord was led by Jeejo and Berna. Around 60 were present for this and each had a rejuvenating experience with the Lord.
A Taize worship was organised on the 24th of Nov at Fatima retreat house, Valencia. The true held felt worship was led by Rodney Pereira and a team of musicians. Around 55 members were present for the worship.
The intercession month ended with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist by Fr. Rudolf Noronha ( animator of Jesus Youth,Mangalore). Indeed the city was blessed with number of blessings during this beautiful month of prayer.

MEET JESUS:'Redefining Life"-A North East Gathering

A number of students and migrants from the North East states of India are residing in and around Mangalore. The vision of reaching out to such youths and giving them Christ has led to this gathering of North East youth at Mangalore, which was the first ever gathering of such kind. It was held on the 8th of Nov 2009, at the St. Aloysius College Primary Hall

There were a total participation of 61 youth from 6 different states of the North East of India. Salma,a Manipal Jeus Youth, was the MC for the day. The music ministry was rocking. The Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese, Rev. Dennis Prabhu addressed the participants and shared his experiences with them at the beginning of the day. Fr. Nelson (Animator of the Charismatic Renewal in Mangalore) and Fr. Jais (Animator of the KJYT) celebrated the Holy Eucharist for the participants. Dr. Nishan and Rodney Pereira led the two sessions of the day, along with some group activity also. The programme ended with a time of adoration led by Anil that was heart-touching.

The great effort and hard work behind this programme was put by the full-timers of the present batch, Chinkimlung John and Xavier.

NOVEMBER-Month of Intercession

A month full of intercessory prayers is planned, which was

inaugarated with a mass in DSHJ convent on the 1st of Nov. 09 which was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Francis D'Almeida.The month includes personal as well as community intercessions. The personal intercesion includes a pre-planned schedule for the month with different intentions for each day and another initiative called 'press a pause' where every jesus youth dedicates a day full for personal prayer,silence and meditation . The intercession gatherings include NIGHT VIGIL on the 14th Nov, 09 at the bishop's house, then a WALK WITH MAMMA MARY ont he 21st, and TAIZE WORSHIP on the 24th.

Lets all join together in interceding for our city, for its said "A LOT OF KNEELING WILL KEEP US IN GOOD STANDING".

Worshiping the Lord through MUSIC!!!

An evening worshiping the Lord through music was organised on the 25th of Oct, 09 in St.Agnes Special School from 3.30 to 5 pm.

Around 65 joined for the worship. The music team comprised of Prem (guitar), Anthony (base guitar), Julius (drums), Roseanne (voilin), Suraj (keyboard) and singers- Dillon, Ovida, Aruna, Deon, John, Crystal, Bryan, Anil and Berna.

Anil shared the Word on worship which was followed by a beautiful time of worship by Prem and Berna. The music team declared to have such worship evenings every month.

The preparations for the conference in Karnataka were formally launched on the 15th of February 2009 in Bangalore. We had close to 70 delegates from various parts of Karnataka for the launch. Many preparatory programs were organized for preparing the volunteers and participants for the conference. We had two volunteers training, Intercession retreat, growth retreat which happened during the last 9 months. We had round the clock intercession, a lot of people travelling and a series of meetings which helped in the preparation of the conference.

The conference for the region was held from the 2nd to the 4th of October in DVK Auditorium, Christ University, Bangalore.

Jesus Youth from all parts of Karnataka came together as one family to be part of the conference. The preparatory meetings and events for the conference had generated a lot of momentum which built up to the conference. People from outside the host city started pouring in to the venue a day before the conference.
We had a little more than 500 Jesus Youth for the conference which included Priests, Religious, Families and Youth. The presence of people from different background and culture in itself was a beauty of the conference.
The resources and other dignitaries who graced the conference with their presence were Archbishop Bernard Moras (Archbishop of Bangalore), Fr Dennis Prabhu Moras (Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese), George Devassy (Coordinator, Jesus Youth International), CC Joseph, Fr Adolf Washington, Adv Raiju Varghese, Alex Njavally, Siljo Thomas, Fr Jacob Britto, Rajan Uncle, Rodney Pereira, Dony Peter, Fr. Alberto Monnis CRS, Fr Sandesh, and Fr Mathew Koikkara CMI.

The conference began at 9 am on 2nd October with praise and worship. This was followed by consecration of statue of Mother Mary, Bible and the Cross by Fr Jais (Pastor, Jesus Youth Karnataka), Sr Fideles (Former Animator, Jesus Youth, Bangalore), James (Animator, Jesus Youth Karnataka), Siju Mathew (Animator, Jesus Youth Karnataka), Suraj Noronha (Coordinator, Jesus Youth Karnataka), Jessy MJ (KJYT member). Mother Mary’s consecrated statue was placed on the stage, reiterating the ever present support from our immaculate Mother for the conference.
The inaugural Holy Mass was celebrated in Kannada by Fr. Rudolf (Pastor Jesus Youth), Fr. Sandesh (Assistant Parish Priest, St.Antony’s Church, Bangalore) and Fr. Mathew Koikara (Parish priest, St. Thomas Forane Church, Bangalore). Fr.Sandesh also taught the participants a Kannada song and enthralled the participants by playing the guitar and mouth-organ together
We had optional seminars, panel sharing’s and few parallel sessions that happened on the second day of the conference. The audiovisual ministry put up choreography and a stage play which communicated the challenges faced by saints and heroes of Christianity. We had a beautiful Rosary Procession in the evening.

On the third day we had more discussions on the lifestyle of a Jesus Youth and a picture was presented on where the Jesus Youth is headed to? We also had the planning session coordinated by Suraj Noronha where the focus areas of KJYT was presented.

We celebrated the year of priests during the final session of the conference. We had invited all the priests and religious who are familiar to the Jesus Youth for this celebration. The priest and religious were presented with mementoes and special prayers were offered for them after the concluding Mass.

Taize at Divine Call Centre,Mulky

A Taize worship was conducted for the ICYM members who were attending a 3 day retreat at Divine Call Centre,Mulky on 26th Sept 09 in the evening. Anil D'souza introduced about the Taize worship. Suraj Noronha helped the gathering learn the songs. The beautiful choir which included Prem, Wedson, Brian, Ovida, Dionne, Aruna, Dillon, Anil and Suraj led the gathering into melodious chantings. The reading and the intercessory prayers were led by the ICYM members.Around 200 people participated in this worship.
The Jesus Youth is also leading the praise and worship for all the three days.

'BACKBONE OF OUR MOVEMENT'

A 6 hour intercession was held in Bishop's house on the 27th Sept,09 in preparation of the coming Deeper and Higher conference in Bangalore from 2nd to 4th October,09. The day started with a mass. Jaison led a beautiful time of adoring the Eucharistic Lord, Bro.Tony shared on prayer and intercession. There was a time of intercession for the conference in which everyone participated and fervently prayed.
Everyday,Mangalore bends its knees in front of the blessed sacrament interceding for the conference in Fatima Retreat House,Valencia from 7pm to 9pm for the conference.

There was a retreat for the first year students of St. Agnes Degree College,Bendoor on 18th and 19th of september. The crowd was about 200 . Fr. Rudolf inaugraed thr retreat with the Holy Mass and homily on Uniqueness of every person. Gleron and Prem took a interactive M/C involving the students greatly in the retreat.The sessions like God's love ,Jesus My savior , Sin & repentance , Media Effects, Holy Spirit's guidance in studies and decision making , and others were taken by Mr. Anil, Mr. Suraj, Sr. Michelle,Mr. Prajwal, Br.Rodney,who gave a good exposure to the light of faith. Testimonies from Mr. Suraj , Mr. Prajwal were showing the reality of existence and working of the Almighty.
Music on base guitar , acoustic guitar , keyboard and drums gave a rythm to praise the almighty God, thanks to musicians like Prem, Brayn, Greg , John, Suraj,Anthony. There as good worship time led by our leaders. Rowen was handling the media work , which also worked a lot for the students to grasp the message.Thanks especially for the intercession team including Steffi, Crystal,Jaison...; which gave a backbone support.
Let God be praised for all this greatness shown. The Concluding Holy Mass and homily on how to keep up this spiritulity was by Fr. Bineesh, who also lead through the prayer for the infilling of the Holy Spirit.Thanks to the manangement of St. Agnes College, who co-operated with us during the 2 days.

Ministry Gathering

All ministry and core teams members had a gathering at Infant Jesus,Bikarnakatte on the 9th of Aug 09 organised by the service team. There were around 40 members present.
The gathering began at 8.30am with the prayer meeting which is usually held at that time,with the Jesus Youth prayer lead by Suraj Noronha, followed by Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr.Nelson. There was a good time of fellowship and also talk given by Bro.Rodney Pereira on "working in ministry".
Mr.Anil discussed about Kristotsava,a program happening in the Diocese of Mangalore and the participation of Jesus Youth in it. Mr.Anto from Bangalore, assistant general coordinator of Deeper and Higher in Karnataka enlightened us on this conference and our role in it.

I am filled with joy when I recall the Karnataka leaders gathering and
the KJYT reconstitution that happened last weekend in Blr. We had 150
participants from 18 places of Karnataka. The gathering was blessed
with the presence of Most Rev. Robert Miranda (Bishop of Gulbarga),
Archbishop Ignatius Paul Pinto (Archbishop Emeritus of Bangalore), Fr
Franklin (Secretary, Karnataka Youth commission and pastor for
Karnataka Parish team) Fr Emmanuel MSFS (Dean of Suvidya college and
former pastor of KJYT), Fr Jais MSFS (Pastor of Jesus Youth
Karnataka), Raiju Varghese (Jesus Youth International Team member),
Siljo Thomas (Jesus Youth National coordinator), Jose Sebastian (JYNT
member), C C Joseph (Jesus Youth International Team member) and other
elders, religious and senior leaders in Karnataka. The gathering helped each of us to
learn how we can grow to be a strong committed leader for Christ.

Light a Candle for Peace

Well, You may wonder wats the heading all about, Light a Candle for Peace was the theme with which Taize Prayer happened at St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee Hall, on the 5th of April 2009, organised jointly by The Mangalore Diocesan Ecumenical Commision and The Jesus Youth.

It was the Palm Sunday evening, as around 400 participants gathered in the hall.

Firstly Mr. Suraj Noronha taught the songs to everyone, and then Mr. Rodney Pereira, who had been to Taize, France, introduced Taize form of Prayer to the people gathered.

Then Fr. J.B Saldhanha, Secretary, Diocesan Ecumenical Commission, spoke few words to everyone present there.

Then as the lights were put off, Taize Prayer took off with the Kannada hymn Thande deva!!

After singing various chants and going through the scriptures, and praying for peace and when everyone were into the core part of the prayerfullness,This song 'We adore You Lord Jesus Christ', was sung by the participants with the choir, as people were holding a candle symbolizing the theme, as it said " Light a Candle for Peace", then later everyone walked forward to bow down and adore the Lord on the Cross, was truly a very touchy scene...

Athena Nursing College Retreat- (March 27th-29th)

Athena Nursing college retreat started on 26th with Mr. Robert from St Joseph' College leading the nurses into a wonderful time of Praise and worship, then by a session on I am unique by Mr. Golvin who is a part of Karnataka Nurses team,
Well then taken over by Fr Saleen, who shared somr real beautiful thoughts on 'why am I so Precious' and about 'God's love', Had a beautiful time of Holy Eucharistic celebration in the noon,
Fr. Nelson , the Charismatic director of Mangalore who spoke on youth issues before which there was a nice skit, well then the participants had very touching experience during the adoration in the evening.

The second day was a day of reflection, were participants prepared for the Confessions and later the inner healing adoration led by Fr. Saleen,

The Final day was a joyous day for the participants, there was a introduction of the Jesus Youth movement, done by Mr Hebin, then a Prolife session by Ms. Jincy
The Peak time of the day was the infillin time, it was very beautifully led by Mr. Anil.
The retreat ended with the time of celebration where the participants with the music team sang and danced for the Lord!

Ms. Alphonsa was the General Co-ordinator for this retreat.

Taize at Rosario Church

It was another Taize Worship, this evening as people were meditating as they were looking at the Cross

The Taize Worship at Rosario Church was a wonderful time from 7pm - 8pm on 27th March as people gathered in the hall for this Taize experience.
As Anil started it off introducing to the participants wat' s this Taize worship all about, and after having some time off practice, Taize worship started eventually with few Bless the Lord my soul, there was this beautiful psalm 23, sung in Konkani 'Somi Mujho Gowli' as it continued with the bible reading and prayers of the faithful,
some thing really beautiful was the time when people gathered around the Cross to adore it.
Taize worship was well Co-ordinated by Mr Anil Dsouza.
Decoration was taken care by Jeejo.

As it is the Lenten season, there was a very meaningful Way of the Cross led by Mr. Henry from St. Joseph' College

The beautiful part of the Night Vigil was the Candle Light Intercession, which really made people to pray for the various institutions in our city, it was wonderfully led by Ms Hazel and Ms Berna.

His Grace Bishop Aloysius Paul D'souza offered the Holy Eucharistic Celebration, with a meaningful Homily in the morning, after which the Night Vigil was concluded,

Þ Second step
A Campus ministry initiative where around 12 people gather once a week to pray, learn about the catholic faith, and discuss on it. This happened on 8th Feb, Sunday and 14th Feb Saturday at St Dominic’s Church, Urva. Mr. Anil D’Souza is the Chief Master.

Þ Night Vigil
Night vigil for the month of February happened on 14th Feb ’09, this was an Intercession team initiative, around 25 of them took part, Bro Tony was the resource and Fr Bineesh offered mass in the morning.

Þ Builders
A Nurses ministry initiative- Key Leaders of the ministry gathered for the same. around 30 of them were present, Fr Bineesh, from the Dominican Seminary was the Resource. The venue of the program was at the Youth Centre, Jeppu, Mangalore. It happened on February 22nd

Þ Oasis
Jesus youth helped out with the mobilization for the retreat organized by the Carmelites for the youth of Mangalore, named Oasis, following up will be done with the Prayer meetings at Infant Jesus shrine on every Sunday evening 4pm - 5pm.

Taize Worship happened at the Diocesan Youth Gathering. This was at the Rosario Church Cultural Hall, on the 24th of January from 9:30PM-10:30PM

The Taize Choir was co-ordinated by Mr. Suraj Noronha, the choir consisted of around 15 of them, The chants consisted of Thande deva(Kannada), Bless the Lord, Somi Mujho Gowli(Konkani), Hamhe Shanthi Dedo ye Prabhu(Hindi) and so on..
The decoration was handled by Mr. Brayan Dias,
It was a beautiful time of prayer, where at the end, people came forward to adore the Cross. There were around 100 participants.

Night Vigil- January 2009

The Night vigil started with the Rosary, later Mr. Suraj Noronha led a beautiful Praise and Worship, Fr Prakash Monteiro was present for Confessions and to expose the Blessed Sacrament, Mr. Rodney Pereira shared the word of God, the gathered congregation praised God for the blessing HE showered in the past year in their lives and on the City and continued praying for the city of Mangalore, Around 30 participated in the vigil. Ms Jetty Elizabeth led the adoration at the end of the vigil; the night vigil was ended with the Holy Eucharistic celebration.

It was truly a Blessed time!!!

Teens Monthly Gathering- The Christmas Celebration

Teens Monthly gathering happened on 21st December from 3pm -5pm at Evangelization centre, Jeppu. For this Christmas Celebration there with more than 30 teens. Br Rodney Periera was the resource person. Fr Vijay Lobo annointed the teen team and the Core team of St Gerosa School prayer meeting. The teens team focuses on teens specially studying in Schools and Pre-Universities.

Campus meet ‘08 was conducted from 14th to 17th August, 2008 at Divine Call Centre, Mulki for youth from different campuses. There were 500 participants for this programme. The programme went on with inspiring sessions, heart touching skits, enlightening music, audio- visuals, group discussions, breath-taking choreography, adoration, inner healing, Holy Mass, repentance, confession, praise and worship. The sessions were based on the theme, personal prayer and prayer meetings. There were beautiful testimonies in the programme.

The Theame of the program was Celebrating life. At the end of the programme the participants got a new experience with Jesus by feeling the love of GOD and inner healing.

The sessions were conducted by Fr Franklin, Br Mario,Br Rodney, Br Saju, Br Shinoj, Dr Nishan and Br Suraj. Prayer meeting have started in different places as a fruit of this program. The Music was lead by Kaju, Aniesh and Ajiesh from the Rex Band and the Bud Strings of Mangalore.

illuminate - Campus Gathering

illuminate the Campus Gathering of Mangalore took place on the 8th June,2008. There were around 50 participants gathered at St Agnes Special School Hall, Mangalore

ice breaker was conducted by Brayn (Roshini Nilaya Core team), where the ice was broken with some wonderful songs and some group discussions

The ice breaker was followed by a wonderful praise and worship led by Alveera (Campus team member) and Prem, which really got people gathered to praise The Almighty Lord and to worship Him.

A very wonderful sharing on "Precious Blood of Jesus" by Mr Dolphy (chairman of Charismatic Renewal in M'lore) touched all the participants gathered there, it was concluded by some tips on how we can ask the precious blood of Jesus by Birdy Aunty, the music was lead by Prem on guitar and Julius on the drums. Br Shinoj (M'lore subregion fulltimer) shared his views, as it was his first day in Mlore. Prem also sang the Campus song composed by him.

Discipleship Training Programme '08, Mangalore, was held at Pastoral Centre, Bajjodi, Mangalore from 24th May -1st June, 2008

HIGHLIGHTS OF DTP

5 religious also participated (2 Sisters - DSHJ and 2 Seminarians - Dominican).
3 days retreat.
6 days training.
Out reach to an old age home.
Group activities, Group discussions.
Pro-life exhibition.
Counselling and eldering.
Meeting with the family members on the last day.

Retreat was conducted by Fr Franklin and Mr Wilson (Delhi JY animator).
Mr Baby Chacko (Babychayan) dealt with the topics inner healing, discipleship, values and cleanliness.
Mr Siju Alenchery took up the session on self awareness, communication skills, and personality development.
Dr Edward (Eddy Chetan) spoke on Jesus Youth Ministry.
Ms Hemalata (Hemalata Teacher) spoke about Mother Mary and importance of Intercession.
Mr Vijay Sebastian spoke on the importance of evangelization.
Mr Suraj conducted a session on praise and worship.
Mr Anil on personal prayer
Br Kenneth addressed the gathering on the importance of word of God.
Fr Roger spoke about the importance of the Catholic Church
Mr Saji Arakulam was there for the counselling through out and also he had taken up sessions on praise. His testimony was the most inspiring one.
Mr Rodney Periera spoke on mass media, discipleship and leadership.
Ms Sweety spoke about Pro-life.

Participants are filled with the zeal and courage to work for God's kingdom. DTP did shape the participants personality and lifestyle to work for the glory of God.

There were about 30 family members of the participants who were present on the parents gathering which was held no 1st June followed by the commissioning mass which was celebrated by Fr Melwyn D'Cunha SJ (animator of Jesus Youth in Mangalore).
Parents were very happy with DTP and the functioning of Jesus Youth in Mangalore.

5th & 6th April, 2008 - Service team meeting

Service team of Mangalore had its meeting in Ashoknagar Church from 5th evening. Fr Beenish and Sr Rosemary were also present during the meeting.

11th April - Formation of St. Joseph Engineering College Prayer meeting Core team

- The first core team of St. Joseph’s engineering college prayer meeting was formed with a total of 6 members with Robert as the coordinator and Carol as the asst. coordinator. A new blog of the prayer meeting is also being created visit http://jesusyouth-sjec.blogspot.com

13th April Bl Alphonsa Chruch Prayer meeting core team formation – A new core team was formed for the Alphonsa prayer meting with a total of 9 members.

19th and 20th April - Karnataka service team training – A two day training for all the key leaders of Karnataka was held at Pastoral Centre. 30 participants were present. The main resources were Mr. Dr. Chackochan Njavally, Br. George, Br. Dony, Br.Siljo, Br. Rodney, Br Shoy and Sr.Rosemary, Sr.Cicil. The sessions were mainly on solving problems in ministry and current trends and issues at leadership level.

20th April - Living Waters at Manipal

A Professional gathering mainly involving all the doctors, engineers and the working crowd of Manipal came under one roof to experience the joy and love of Jesus. It was a one day initial program with 40 participants. The sessions were handled by Br. George and Br. Dony. All the participants were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit by the end of the program.

25th to 29th April - Full timers outreach in Mangalore

– A total of 10 full timers came to Mangalore for a mission experience. They went to various places like St. Joseph Engineering College, Wenlock Hospital, Mudipu and various prayer meetings in Mangalore. Jesus youths from Mangalore were accompanying them on each of the days.

26th & 27th April - Night Vigil at Bishop's House, Mangalore

The monthly night vigil of Jesus Youth in Mangalore was held at Bishops house from 26th evening to 27th morning. Around 50 people came for the night vigil and spent their the whole night with the lord.

27th April, Nurses Builders Program

– A one day leaders gathering for nurses took place at Olivet House, Jeppu for 80 participants. Br. Joshy M A from Kerala was the main resource.

Second step

Every Saturday 13 disciples gather together at Retreat House to spend time with their master Jesus and to learn more about Him. The sessions are taken by Merlin and Suraj.

As we thank the Lord for all the blessings that he has showered on us in the month of April we keep all the initiatives of the Jesus youth in the coming month

Campus gathering "illuminate" took place at St. Agnes special, Mangalore. on 9/3/2008 from 2:30p.m -5:00p.m. There were about about 40 students present from St Joseph Engg College, Roshni Nilaya, St.Aloysius College, St.Agnes College and other colleges of Mangalore.
Robert from St.Joseph Engg led the praise and worship. An interactive session on 'Holy Spirit' by Fr.Fred.

Sharol n team conveyed the messege of lent and how much Jesus loves us through a skit. Finally Prem sang the song composed by him"Prayer for the campuses of Mangalore".

Taizé Prayer at Fatima Retreat House

It was a blessing to have Taize prayer, at Fatima Retreat House (open-air) on 8th March,2008 (6:30pm to 8:00pm). The atmosphere was filled with the beautiful presence of our Lord along with the lovely songs of worship which were being chanted melodiously by a choir of 20 people led by Suraj and Rodney. There were nearly600 people present. The taizé worship went on for one and a half hour with brief periods of silence and readings from the word of God which helped the people to be in the presence of the Lord. At the end of the prayer all the people were given with lit candels symbolising that 'Jesus is the Light of the world'.

The decoration which was done skillfully added to the beauty of Taize worship, the decoration team was lead by Sherin and Francis.
The prayer started after the gathering was welcomed by Fr Ronnie Prabhu SJ followed by a brief introduction about the Taizé prayer by Rodney and Sharrel.

We are very grateful to the authorities of Fatima retreat house for their whole hearted support and cooperation.

U-trun, a initiative of the Bl Alphonsa Prayer Meeting was conducted from 26th to 27th January, 2008. The program was attended by around 800 participants from various colleges in Mangalore. The seesions were taken by Shashi Emanuel and CC Joseph. The participants were all filled with joy and had the desire to do something for the Lord.

The highlight of the program also included the coreography, skits, and rocking music.

The general co-ordinator of the program was Paul.

More than 7500 participants were present for the program from India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and other countries. Around 75 people participated from Mangalore. There were many Bishops, Priests and Religious also present for the program. The participants had a personal expierience with the Lord.

A new initiative from the Jesus Youth in Mangalore, where the participants are taught to play guitar, keyboard and lead Praise and Worship for the Lord. Around 20 participants gather every saturday from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Along with music the participants are also taught to be focused on the Lord. Worderful leadership shown by Prem Machado. Session are taken by Prem Machado, Rodney Periera and Suraj Noronha.

The Jesus Youth family gathering of Mangalore ,“Koinonia 2007”, was conducted on 9th December, 2007 at Roshini Nilaya seminar hall. There were around 300 participants, and the theme of the program was centred around 'Prolife'. It was also a time for all the Jesus Youth to come together to celebrate the joy and excitement of the Christmas season.

The icebreakers and the Praise and Worship was led by Jeslin, Ian, Prem and the Campus team. It was followed by a welcome dance by the Athena Nursing college students. The sessions were taken by Dr Abraham Jacob and Br Johnson Poovathunkal from Kerala. The speakers outlined the fundamental concepts of the prolife mentality and gave a detailed explanation on the teaching of the Catholic Church regarding use of contraceptives and birth control. The mass was celebrated by Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu (Vicar General Diocese of Mangalore).Fr Melwyn D' Cunha SJ and Fr Binish were also present during the program.

There was a very good interaction session with all the parents and elders who had come to attend the program. Ms Olga Noronha who is one of the pioneers of the Charismatic youth movement in Mangalore was also present. The principal of Roshini Nilaya School of Social Work, Madam Jacinta was in all praises for the Jesus Youth and said that more students should be involved with the Jesus Youth.

During the program we had the anointing of the new Nurses team and St Agnes Special School prayer meeting core team. The anointing session was lead by Fr Melwyn D' Cunha SJ. The main highlight of the program was the Christmas celebration with baby Jesus and the Santa, singing Carols and action songs. At the end of the day every one was joyful and danced for the Lord.The MC's for the program were Megna (Fulltime volunteer for Manipal) and Suraj (Mangalore).

The program was coordinated by Sweety, Jessica and the prolife team of Mangalore. There was also a prolife exhibition in the campus which was visited by the participants and also the students of Roshini Nilaya College. Sr Beena, Sr Annie and Sr Lissy were also present for the program. The new prayer cards for the city of Mangalore which was blessed by Fr Peter S Noronha were also distributed during the program.

On the whole the program was a time of celebration and getting to know Jesus Youth from other ministries and their families. There was a feeling of a family and being one in heart and mind.

1s t – Karnataka intercession day- The Mangalore Jesus youth celeberated this day at MUDIPU a miraculous place, around 30 peoples from all ministries where present. There was a wonderful time of fellowship, bible sharing and strong tine of intercession

4th-24th Karnataka Preshith Training – The Karnataka Jesus youth Team organized a training programme for 11 participants at Fatima retreat house. At the end of the training all the participants took commitments to work for the lord’s kingdom in various parts of Karnataka.

8th-11th Growth retreat - The nurse’s ministry of Mangalore organized a growth level retreat for all the second line nursing leaders of Mangalore at evangelization centre. There were a total of 50 participants who attended the program. Br. Thomas Kurian and Br.Joy were the main resources. The main sessions taken were mainly on the use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and to lead a spirit filled life.

17th Bud Strings – A new initiative started by the Mangalore Jesus youth for music lovers. All music lovers come together once in a week to learn music. The people responsible are Mr. Prem Mr. Rodney & Mr.Suraj.

18th Nurses team reconstitution- A half day programme was conducted for the reconstitution of nurses team at St.Agnes special school, the main resource was Mr. Hebin and the session was on commitment to the lord and team building, mass was celeberated by Fr. Roger. Ms Jetty became the coordinator and the team members are Geo, Dijo, Reji, Paul, Anu, Sofia, Archana, Neethu, Sherin. Jijo is the ex officio, pradeep elder of the team.

24th Night vigil- The Mangalore Jesus youth celeberated the night vigil anniversary to mark the completion of one year of continuous night vigils at evangelization centre. A total of 50 people were present. Mass was celeberated by fr.prakash, a talk on commitment was given by Mr. Anil. Adoration was led by Br. Rodney. The commissioning ceremony of the Karnataka Preshitha was done during the night vigil.

24th, 25th laxmi LTP and core team reconstitution- This took place at DSHJ convent. Around 45 participants were present, Br. Shibu was the resource. Fr. Jose from Bl. Alphonsa church celeberated the mass. The new core team consists of 6 members. Jessy is the coordinator.

Pilgrimage to Mudipu

Jesus Youth of Mangalore had organised a one day pilgrimage to Bl. Joseph Vas Shrine at Mudipu on 1st November, 2007 in view of the Karnataka Intercession Day. A total of 35 Jesus Youth started the day with mass at Fr Muller Chapel, Mangalore and then stated the journey, they reached Mudipu at around 10 in the morning. There was a wonderful time of fellowship where each of the participants were asked to speak about their favourite saint, which was then followed by Praise and Worship and a session by Br Rodney. Presence of Fr Melwyn made the day more joyous. There was a strong time of intercession for around 2 hours where the main intentions were SAC, all the needs of Karnataka, and for all the Jesus Youth around the world. With love n prayers

An one day program was organised by the campus ministry of Jesus Youth in Mangalore at St Agnes Special School Hall called as 'illuminate'. Around 45 people participated in the program. The Program had Talk, Skit, Praise and Worship and Action songs. The General Coordinator for the program was Sharrel Saldanha. The Session was taken by Hebin and Gishel on Immotional Maturity.

31ST AUG – 2 SEP – Karnataka parish LTP – A leadership training program for 28 participants from various parts of Karnataka was held at Rishivana. The resources were Br. Davis, Br. Eliyas, Br. Joy, Br. Albert Lobo. The participants were given training on how to be committed and strong Christian leaders.

2nd – LTP Follow up – A follow up of the leadership training program was conducted at Fr. Mullers. 12 students attended this program. The main resource was Suraj. The main aim of this program was to start various ministries in the campus. The ministries formed were music ministry, healing hands and intercession ministry.

2nd – Teens volunteers gathering – A one day gathering of all the volunteers of the TEENS MEET was held at Fatima Retreat House. The main resources were Liss and Wilma. A total of 30 volunteers attended this program.

9th – Family gathering at St. Agnes Special school was conducted from 2 P.M to 5 P.M. The Jesus Youth of Mangalore celebrated the feast of nativity as one family. There was a beautiful time of fellowship with games.

16th – Staff and tutors program – A one day program for nursing staff and tutors was held at Fatima Retreat House by the nurses ministry. 60 participants were present. Br. Dony from Bangalore was the main resource.

18th – Taize worship – Taize worship was held at Valencia parish from 6:15 P.M to 7:30 P.M. Br. Rodney led the worship. 50 parishioners attended the Taize worship.

22nd – Night Vigil – The night vigil was held at Bishops house. A total of 30 Jesus Youths attended the vigil. It was a beautiful time of spending the whole night in the presence of the Lord. We also had a time of confession before the vigil began. Fr. Prakash helped with the confessions. The vigil ended with Holy Mass celebrated by the Bishop of Mangalore.

Exam Preparation Program for BSc Nurses

More than 100 people participated in the Exam Preparation Program organised by the nurses ministry in Mangalore. It is the first time that the nurses ministry in Mangalore has organised a program specially for the GNM Students. The venue for the program was St Aloysius Primary School Hall. The program was conducted on Sunday 15th July 2007. Sessions were taken by Nimin Joy, who spoke on being one with the vine that is Jesus.

We Wish all the GNM nursing students who participated all the best in their exam. May God bless all of you.

Modanthyar Prayer Meeting

Hi everybody... Today we went to Modanthyar.... Every Sat from 1.00pm to 2.00 at Modanthyar Chruch new prayer meeting has already began... Mangalore Full Timer Sherine Stanley and me went... It was a good Mission experience... People at Modanthyar have deceided to come regularly on wed and fri for 10 min and interceeed for the prayer meeting .....Isnt it a great intiative.... I think ... They require more prayers.... Lets all pray for the Jesus Youth Modanthyar Prayer meetings.... Especially for Jaison, Ivan, Lavina and Monica who ve decided to meet on wed and Fri.....

Follow up of Ephatha

The follow up of Ephatha was organised at Evangelisation Center on 8th July, 2007 by the initiative of the nurses ministry. The Resource persons for the program were James, Rodney and Jopachan. There were around 50 participants. The main theme of the program was Evangelisation.

Fr Stany Vas celebrated the Holy Eucharist and blessed the new vestments and mass articles bought by the Jesus Youth. Sr Beena (Nurses Animator) was there for the program and extended her valuable support. The general coordinator for the program was by Neetu (Srinivas college tutor). Music was lead by Justin, Berna, Hazil, Sherin, Sheeja , Suraj and others who also helped in doing action songs.

Option for the poor

The profesional ministry is planning to adopt an orphanage. We are planning for a peramnent set up to do monthly vist to the children to make them feel that they are Gods children and they are not orphan we want to give them God's love. We will be teaching them action songs, english learning, spiritual videos, also dreaming to provide scholarship to the deserving ones also we are going to give them spiritual books, casets...to make them pray to God sincerely

Also looking ahead..we plan to make it as great mission to bring people of various walks of life to come down, to sit with children. Hope we can bring a lot of profesionals in comming days to make this mission practical.

Happy B'day FMMC Prayer Meeting

Three years back it was a dream come true when the Jesus Youth were called to start a prayer meeting in Father Mullers Medical College by Fr Frank Rodrigues. The hall was full on that day and Prem and myself went to the hall which was filled with the students. It was an awesome meeting where everyone praised the Lord (some for the first time).

Congratulation to all the people who have helped the prayer meeting grow specially The Prayer Group leader Hazel and all the core team members who are contantly using their charisms to make the prayer meeting more vibrant.

It really fills my heart with joy whenever we see what the Lord is doing in Father Mullers.

How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news

The seeds of the Jesus Youth Movement in Mangalore were sown by the fulltimers, who in the initial stages had to even spend many nights in the railway station. This have changed now with so many Jesus Youth in this city, but one thing that has not changed is the zeal of the fulltimers who come here.

We welcome the new fulltimer to Mangalore, she is Sherine Stanley from Amedabad, who has finished her BA in Liturature and after 40 days of training in Kochi is here for one year, as part of her formation, we wish her a pleasent stay here.

Lets keep her and all the fulltimers around the world in our prayers.

M.V. Shetty College Retreat

A one day retreat for M. V. Shetty College students was organised at Roshini Nilaya on 24th June 2007, Nearly 150 students participated in this program. The rain did not stop any of the participants as the hall was full.

The sessions were coordinated by Br Joshy from Trissur and the participants worshipped the Lord to the music lead by Nelson from Kerala.

The participants discussed about God's Love, faith, youth problems and the importance of fellowship.

By the initiative of the Jesus Youth in Laxmi College a one day program was organised in St Aloysius College Auditorium on 24th June 2007.

Nearly 200 nursing students of Laxmi College participated in the program. Sessions were taken by Tomy sir on introduction to praise, youth problems and the role of Jesus Youth. Music was lead by Shanavas from Kerala, Rinto helped in the action songs. The MC for the program was Nimin.

Kenneth Leaveas to Mumbai

Today Kenneth Crasta (Bablu) reached Mumbai to join the seminary for priestly studies. We wish him all the best. He will be studying for the Mangalore Diocese for around 8 years.

Bablu has been active in the Campus Ministry of Jesus Youth in Mangalore from 2004 and was the member of the first campus team in Mangalore. We thank and praise God for the beautiful gift of Bablu to us and choosing him to work in his vineyard.
